Description

Air Fryer Avocado Fries are a perfect blend of crispy and creamy, offering a healthier twist on a classic snack. Coated in seasoned panko breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese, these fries pair beautifully with a zesty sriracha ranch dipping sauce. Quick, easy, and full of flavor, they’re ideal for any occasion!

Ingredients

For the Fries:

  • 3 slightly under-ripe avocados
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, whisked
  • Nonstick cooking spray (as needed)
  • Coarse salt (optional, for sprinkling)
  • Fresh lime juice (optional, for garnish)

For the Dipping Sauce:

  • ½ cup ranch dressing
  • 2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Avocados:
    • Slice the avocados in half, remove the pits, and gently peel off the skins.
    • Cut each half into 4–5 thick slices for evenly sized fries.
  2. Set Up Coating Stations:
    • In one bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth.
    • In a separate bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and black pepper.
  3. Coat the Avocado Slices:
    • Dip each avocado slice into the whisked egg, ensuring it is fully coated.
    • Transfer the slice to the breadcrumb mixture and press gently to coat all sides evenly.
    • Repeat with all slices and set them on a tray or plate.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
    • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  5. Air Fry the Avocado Fries:
    • Arrange the coated avocado slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not overlap.
    • Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
    • Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Prepare the Dipping Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix the ranch dressing with sriracha until smooth.
    • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less sriracha to suit your preference.
  7. Serve and Garnish:
    • Once the avocado fries are cooked, sprinkle them with coarse salt and drizzle with fresh lime juice if desired.
    • Serve immediately with the sriracha ranch dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Firmness is Key: Slightly under-ripe avocados hold their shape better during cooking.
  • Batch Cooking: For even crispiness, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
  • Alternative Coatings: Add spices like paprika, garlic powder, or cayenne to the breadcrumb mixture for extra flavor.
  • Serve Fresh: These fries taste best right out of the air fryer when they’re hot and crispy.
