Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken tenders
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the egg.
- Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Dredge each chicken tender in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess.
- Dip the floured chicken tender into the beaten egg, then coat it with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Arrange the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray or brush with cooking oil for extra crispiness.
- Cook the chicken tenders in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the honey butter garlic sauce by combining melted butter, honey, and minced garlic in a small bowl.
- Once the chicken tenders are done, toss them in the honey butter garlic sauce until well coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the flour mixture.
- Substitute the chicken tenders with chicken breasts cut into strips for a different texture.
