Description
A delicious and hearty meatloaf infused with the rich flavors of French onion soup, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup French onion soup
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing the pan)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with olive oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, French onion soup, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and thyme. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once cooked, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to help the juices redistribute for a moister loaf.
Notes
- For a lower-carb version, substitute breadcrumbs with almond flour or crushed pork rinds.
- Add sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers to the meat mixture for extra flavor and texture.
