Description

A delicious Apple Cheesecake Crumb Pie that combines creamy cheesecake with tender apples and a crumbly topping.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled and sliced apples (about 23 medium apples)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and softened butter. Mix until crumbly.
  3. Add the egg to the mixture and stir until combined. Reserve 1 cup of the crumb mixture for the topping, and press the remaining mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie pan.
  4. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust.
  5. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, nutmeg, and the remaining crumb mixture. Layer the apple mixture on top of the cream cheese layer.
  6. Sprinkle the reserved crumb topping and rolled oats evenly over the apples.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  8. Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or chilled.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in a teaspoon of caramel sauce with the cream cheese filling.
  • Substitute the apples with pears or a mix of both for a different twist on this dessert.
