Description
A delicious Apple Cheesecake Crumb Pie that combines creamy cheesecake with tender apples and a crumbly topping.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups peeled and sliced apples (about 2–3 medium apples)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and softened butter. Mix until crumbly.
- Add the egg to the mixture and stir until combined. Reserve 1 cup of the crumb mixture for the topping, and press the remaining mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie pan.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust.
- In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, nutmeg, and the remaining crumb mixture. Layer the apple mixture on top of the cream cheese layer.
- Sprinkle the reserved crumb topping and rolled oats evenly over the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or chilled.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in a teaspoon of caramel sauce with the cream cheese filling.
- Substitute the apples with pears or a mix of both for a different twist on this dessert.
