Description

A delicious and gooey dessert that combines the flavors of apple pie with a rich butter cake.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup apple pie filling
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy and smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  5. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until well combined. Fold in the apple pie filling and cinnamon.
  6. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the batter in the pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set but still slightly gooey. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For a twist, try adding chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts to the cream cheese mixture for added crunch.
  • You can also substitute the apple pie filling with cherry or blueberry filling for a different flavor.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
