Description
A delicious and gooey dessert that combines the flavors of apple pie with a rich butter cake.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup apple pie filling
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy and smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until well combined. Fold in the apple pie filling and cinnamon.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the batter in the pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set but still slightly gooey. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For a twist, try adding chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts to the cream cheese mixture for added crunch.
- You can also substitute the apple pie filling with cherry or blueberry filling for a different flavor.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
