Ingredients
- 2 cups yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup diced apples (about 1 medium apple)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg. Mix until well combined and the batter is thick.
- Press the batter evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a crust.
- In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, 2 eggs, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the diced apples and chopped pecans, if using.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set but still slightly gooey.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a caramel twist, drizzle caramel sauce over the top before serving.
