Bacon BBQ Chicken Sliders are a savory delight made with shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, and crispy bacon, all served on slider buns and topped with melted cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 8 slices cooked bacon, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 slider buns
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and shred it using two forks.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, and chopped bacon. Stir until well mixed.
- Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.
- Spoon the BBQ chicken mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the slider buns.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the chicken mixture.
- Place the top halves of the slider buns over the cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are lightly toasted.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños to the chicken mixture.
- You can also substitute the BBQ sauce with a honey mustard sauce for a different flavor profile.
