Description
A delicious twist on traditional dessert, combining the flavors of banana bread and cheesecake.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, and softened butter. Mix until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the banana mixture, and mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared springform pan.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the banana batter in the pan.
- Pour the remaining banana batter over the cream cheese layer, spreading it gently to cover. If using, sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cheesecake to cool in the pan for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the banana batter.
- Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
