Description

A delicious twist on traditional dessert, combining the flavors of banana bread and cheesecake.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, and softened butter. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the banana mixture, and mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared springform pan.
  6. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
  7. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the banana batter in the pan.
  8. Pour the remaining banana batter over the cream cheese layer, spreading it gently to cover. If using, sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cheesecake to cool in the pan for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a chocolate twist, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the banana batter.
  • Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
