A delicious and creamy dessert that combines the classic flavors of a banana split with the rich texture of cheesecake.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large bananas, mashed
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup chocolate syrup
- ¼ cup crushed pineapple, drained
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- Maraschino cherries for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Stir in the mashed bananas until evenly distributed.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the banana cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated.
- Pour the banana cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top and sprinkle with crushed pineapple and chopped walnuts, if using.
- Cover the cheesecake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, top each slice with a maraschino cherry.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute reduced-fat cream cheese and whipped topping.
- You can also add a layer of sliced strawberries or blueberries on top for added flavor and color.
