Description

A delicious and easy-to-make dessert that combines the flavors of a classic banana split with a dump cake.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup whipped cream (for topping)
  • Maraschino cherries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer the sliced bananas evenly on the bottom.
  3. Pour the crushed pineapple over the bananas, spreading it evenly.
  4. Scatter the chopped strawberries and nuts over the pineapple layer.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the fruit and nut layers.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the cake mix, ensuring it covers as much as possible.
  7. Pour the chocolate syrup over the entire mixture, allowing it to seep through the layers.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  10. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream and garnished with maraschino cherries.

Notes

  • For a tropical twist, add shredded coconut on top of the fruit layers before adding the cake mix.
  • Swap out the nuts for mini chocolate chips for an extra chocolatey flavor.
