Description
A delicious and easy-to-make dessert that combines the flavors of a classic banana split with a dump cake.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1 cup chopped strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup chocolate syrup
- 1 cup whipped cream (for topping)
- Maraschino cherries (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer the sliced bananas evenly on the bottom.
- Pour the crushed pineapple over the bananas, spreading it evenly.
- Scatter the chopped strawberries and nuts over the pineapple layer.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the fruit and nut layers.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the cake mix, ensuring it covers as much as possible.
- Pour the chocolate syrup over the entire mixture, allowing it to seep through the layers.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
- Serve warm, topped with whipped cream and garnished with maraschino cherries.
Notes
- For a tropical twist, add shredded coconut on top of the fruit layers before adding the cake mix.
- Swap out the nuts for mini chocolate chips for an extra chocolatey flavor.
