A delicious and layered dessert combining bananas, strawberries, pineapple, chocolate cake, and whipped cream, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, drained)
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup vanilla pudding (prepared)
- 1 cup chocolate cake, cubed (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup crushed walnuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
- 1/4 cup maraschino cherries, for topping
Instructions
- In a large trifle dish or a glass bowl, layer half of the cubed chocolate cake on the bottom.
- Add half of the sliced bananas, followed by half of the strawberries and pineapple chunks.
- Spoon half of the prepared vanilla pudding over the fruit layer.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold in half of the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until combined.
- Spread half of the whipped cream mixture over the pudding layer in the trifle dish.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining chocolate cake, bananas, strawberries, pineapple, pudding mixture, and whipped cream.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top layer and sprinkle with crushed walnuts, if using.
- Finish with a generous topping of maraschino cherries.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute the heavy cream with whipped topping and use sugar-free pudding.
- For added flavor, consider layering in some crushed graham crackers or adding a layer of peanut butter between the pudding and whipped cream.
