Description
A quick and delicious Beef Asparagus Stir Fry recipe that combines tender beef and fresh asparagus in a savory sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the asparagus to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce mixture over the beef and asparagus. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Drizzle with sesame oil before serving. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
- For added heat, include sliced red chili peppers or a dash of red pepper flakes when stir-frying.
- Substitute the beef with chicken or tofu for a different protein option. Adjust cooking times accordingly.
