Description

A quick and delicious Beef Asparagus Stir Fry recipe that combines tender beef and fresh asparagus in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the asparagus to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and pour the sauce mixture over the beef and asparagus. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil before serving. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For added heat, include sliced red chili peppers or a dash of red pepper flakes when stir-frying.
  • Substitute the beef with chicken or tofu for a different protein option. Adjust cooking times accordingly.
