Description

A quick and flavorful Beef and Black Bean Stir Fry that combines tender beef with black beans and fresh vegetables, all coated in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper (any color), sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¼ cup beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, cornstarch, and beef broth. Stir until smooth and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry for about 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the remaining oil. Stir-fry the onion and bell pepper for about 2–3 minutes until slightly tender. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the black beans and return the cooked beef to the pan.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce into the pan and stir well. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.
