A delicious and easy recipe for Beefy Chili Dogs topped with a flavorful chili mixture and cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can (15 ounces) chili with beans
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 hot dog buns
- 8 hot dogs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onions (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the chili with beans, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the chili is simmering, grill or boil the hot dogs according to package instructions.
- Toast the hot dog buns lightly on a grill or in the oven if desired.
- To assemble, place a hot dog in each bun, top generously with the beef chili mixture, and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Add diced onions and jalapeños on top if using. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the chili mixture.
- You can also substitute turkey or chicken hot dogs for a lighter option.
