Indulge in these decadent Black Forest Brownies, a delightful treat combining rich chocolate and cherry flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir until well blended.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and cherry pie filling, along with the almond extract, until evenly distributed.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of espresso powder to the batter.
- Substitute the cherry pie filling with raspberry or strawberry filling for a different fruit twist.
