Ingredients
- 2 slices of sourdough bread
- 2 ounces of Brie cheese, sliced
- 1/4 cup of fresh blueberries
- 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread 1/2 tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Layer the Brie cheese evenly over the bread in the skillet.
- Scatter the fresh blueberries on top of the Brie.
- Drizzle honey over the blueberries if using, and sprinkle a pinch of salt.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom slice is golden brown.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet, let cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to the blueberries before grilling.
- Swap out the Brie for goat cheese or a sharp cheddar for a different taste profile.
