Description
A delicious and healthy dish featuring bok choy and mushrooms sautéed in a savory oyster sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 pound bok choy, chopped (about 4 cups)
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced (shiitake or button mushrooms work well)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
- Stir in the chopped bok choy and cook for another 3-5 minutes until the greens are wilted and tender.
- Pour in the oyster sauce and soy sauce, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha before serving.
- You can also substitute the bok choy with spinach or kale for a different flavor profile.
