Description

A delicious and healthy dish featuring bok choy and mushrooms sautéed in a savory oyster sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound bok choy, chopped (about 4 cups)
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced (shiitake or button mushrooms work well)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
  4. Stir in the chopped bok choy and cook for another 3-5 minutes until the greens are wilted and tender.
  5. Pour in the oyster sauce and soy sauce, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha before serving.
  • You can also substitute the bok choy with spinach or kale for a different flavor profile.
