Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets, chopped finely
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the balls are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier option, you can steam the broccoli instead of boiling it to retain more nutrients.
- Add cooked bacon bits or diced ham to the mixture for an extra savory flavor.
