Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets (or frozen, thawed)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, broccoli florets, shredded cheddar cheese, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- If using breadcrumbs, melt the butter in a small pan and mix it with the breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the casserole.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added protein, mix in cooked chicken or turkey.
- Substitute the cheddar cheese with mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
