Ingredients
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onion and garlic, and sauté for about 2 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and bell pepper, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
- Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for another 3-5 minutes, until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.
- Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring to combine. If you prefer a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch mixture and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For added protein, consider adding tofu, chicken, or shrimp to the stir fry. Cook the protein first, then set aside before adding the vegetables.
- Experiment with different vegetables like snap peas, carrots, or zucchini for a colorful and nutritious twist.
