Ingredients
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup (150g) sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup (95g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (25g) cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Add-Ins and Garnish:
- 1/2 cup (88g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (for topping)
- Sea salt flakes for garnish
Instructions
1. Preparing the Batter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted chocolate and butter until smooth. Add sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
2. Mixing the Dry Ingredients
Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until a thick batter forms.
3. Shaping the Brookies
Fold in the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between each.
4. Baking Perfection
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers remain slightly gooey. Sprinkle warm brookies with sea salt flakes for a gourmet touch. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Extra Rich Flavor: Swap semi-sweet chocolate for dark chocolate chips.
- Chilling the Dough: If too soft, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes before baking.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Gluten-Free Option: Use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
- Dairy-Free Twist: Replace butter with coconut oil and use dairy-free chocolate chips.
Enjoy these delicious brookies warm with a scoop of ice cream or alongside a steaming cup of coffee!
