Ingredients
Spice Mix (for beef and potatoes):
1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano or mixed herbs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Bowls:
2–3 medium potatoes, washed and cut into wedges or chips
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
500 grams lean ground beef
Shredded lettuce
Cheese (regular or dairy-free)
Pickle slices
Homemade Burger Sauce:
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon Dijon or yellow mustard
1 teaspoon pickle juice
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper to create the spice mix.
-
Pat potato wedges dry and toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and half of the spice mix. Spread on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30–40 minutes, or air fry at 200°C for 20 minutes, shaking halfway through, until crispy and golden.
-
Heat the remaining olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Add ground beef, break it apart, and cook until browned. Add the remaining spice mix and cook until the liquid evaporates and meat darkens in color.
-
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika to make the burger sauce. Adjust to taste.
-
To assemble, divide the crispy potatoes into bowls. Top with shredded lettuce, seasoned beef, cheese, and pickle slices. Drizzle generously with burger sauce. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute the potatoes with cauliflower or sweet potatoes. You can also swap ground beef for turkey or plant-based alternatives. The burger sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 5 days.
