Description
Butterscotch Heaven Pie is a delicious dessert featuring a creamy butterscotch filling in a graham cracker crust, topped with whipped cream and optional pecans.
Ingredients
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butterscotch chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the sour cream and milk, mixing until well combined. Slowly fold in the melted butterscotch chips until fully incorporated.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the butterscotch mixture until no streaks remain. Pour the filling into the cooled graham cracker crust and smooth the top.
- Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or until set. Before serving, sprinkle with chopped pecans if desired and top with whipped cream.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark butterscotch chips or add a pinch of sea salt to the filling.
- Substitute the graham cracker crust with an Oreo crust for a chocolatey twist.
