Description
A delightful dessert recipe featuring buttery cobbler topped with sweet, spiced apples.
Ingredients
- 3 cups peeled and sliced apples (about 4 medium apples)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Pour this batter over the apples in the baking dish, spreading it gently to cover the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cobbler cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of salt to the apple mixture.
- You can also substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a nuttier taste.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
