Description

A delightful dessert recipe featuring buttery cobbler topped with sweet, spiced apples.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups peeled and sliced apples (about 4 medium apples)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. Pour this batter over the apples in the baking dish, spreading it gently to cover the apples.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cobbler cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of salt to the apple mixture.
  • You can also substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a nuttier taste.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
