Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss gently to coat the peaches and set aside to marinate for about 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Gradually stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined; do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spoon the marinated peaches and their juices evenly over the batter.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a twist, add a teaspoon of almond extract for a nutty flavor.
