Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small head of green cabbage, chopped (about 4 cups)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes (with juice), Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
- Cover the skillet and reduce heat to low. Cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and wilted.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot.
Notes
- For added flavor, try incorporating a teaspoon of Italian seasoning or a splash of hot sauce for a kick.
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- For a heartier meal, serve over cooked rice or quinoa.
