Description

Cajun Voodoo Fries are a delicious and flavorful twist on traditional fries, seasoned with Cajun spices and topped with cheese, sour cream, and green onions.

Ingredients

  • 3 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick, to create fries.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with vegetable oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from the oven and drizzle with sour cream. Top with chopped green onions and crumbled bacon if using. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more cayenne pepper or serve with a spicy dipping sauce.
  • Try using sweet potatoes instead of russet potatoes for a different flavor and added nutrients.
