Description

Caramel Apple Bombs are a delightful fall treat featuring apple wedges wrapped in crescent roll dough and drizzled with homemade caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples, cored and cut into wedges
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Bring to a gentle boil and cook for 3-5 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add brown sugar and chopped pecans if using, and stir to combine.
  4. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Place a wedge of apple at the wide end of each triangle, then drizzle a teaspoon of the caramel sauce over the apple.
  5. Roll the dough around the apple wedge, starting from the wide end and tucking in the sides as you go to seal the apple inside. Place the bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the baked bombs before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger to the caramel sauce.
  • Substitute the apples with pears or peaches for a different fruity twist.
