- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup caramel sauce, divided
- 1 package (14 ounces) graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, toss the diced apples with lemon juice and cinnamon.
- In a trifle dish or individual serving cups, layer half of the graham cracker crumbs at the bottom.
- Add half of the cream cheese mixture on top of the crumbs, followed by half of the caramel sauce and half of the apple mixture.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining graham cracker crumbs, cream cheese mixture, caramel sauce, and apples.
- If using, sprinkle the chopped pecans on top.
- Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger to the apple mixture.
- Substitute the apples with pears or peaches for a different fruit twist.
