Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the egg to the mixture and beat until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the caramel sauce and chocolate chips, if using.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce before serving.
