Description

A delicious dessert delight featuring a moist chocolate cake soaked in caramel and chocolate syrup, topped with whipped cream and pecans.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until well combined (the batter will be thin). Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 15 minutes.
  7. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the cake, about 1 inch apart.
  8. Pour the caramel sauce evenly over the warm cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Follow with the chocolate syrup, drizzling it over the top.
  9. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the cake. Let it cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  10. Before serving, spread the whipped topping over the cake.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a layer of melted chocolate chips on top of the whipped topping.
  • You can also substitute the pecans with walnuts or almonds for a different crunch.
