Description
A comforting and delicious Cheesy Chicken & Broccoli Bake that combines tender chicken, steamed broccoli, and creamy cheese sauce, topped with a crispy breadcrumb layer.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
- 3 cups broccoli florets, steamed
- 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for breadcrumbs)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, steamed broccoli, cooked rice, cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- If using breadcrumbs, mix them with olive oil in a small bowl until coated. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top of the chicken and broccoli mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute the cream of chicken soup with a homemade white sauce or Greek yogurt.
- Add your favorite vegetables, such as bell peppers or carrots, for extra nutrition and flavor.
