Description

Delicious cheesy garlic burgers topped with a zesty lemon butter, perfect for your next BBQ.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over.
  4. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the lemon butter. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, and minced garlic until well combined.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun and topping with a generous dollop of lemon garlic butter. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in chopped fresh herbs like parsley or basil into the burger mixture before cooking.
  • Substitute the cheddar cheese with your favorite cheese, such as pepper jack for a spicy kick or blue cheese for a bold flavor.
