Description
A creamy and cheesy dip made with ground beef, perfect for parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced tomatoes with green chilies (such as Rotel)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Tortilla chips, for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the cream cheese, sour cream, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until the cheeses are melted and well combined.
- Add the diced tomatoes with green chilies, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is evenly mixed and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer the dip to a serving dish and serve warm with tortilla chips.
Notes
- For a spicier dip, add diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce to the mixture.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or use a plant-based ground meat alternative for a vegetarian version.
