  • 15 g sambal
  • 100 ml heavy cream

Caramelized Onion Topping:

  • 125 g yellow onion, chopped
  • 125 g grated cheese (your choice)
  • 5 g fresh parsley, chopped

Roll Assembly:

  • White sandwich rolls

Instructions

  • Sauté the Chicken:

    • Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the diced chicken along with cayenne powder, red bell pepper powder, onion powder, garlic powder, chicken seasoning, and dried parsley.
    • Cook for 4-5 minutes until the chicken starts to brown.
  • Create the Sauce:

    • Stir in the sweet soy sauce, sambal, soy sauce, and heavy cream.
    • Increase the heat to high and let the sauce thicken slightly, stirring continuously.
  • Melt the Cheese:

    • Remove the pan from the heat and mix in the grated cheese until well incorporated.
  • Caramelize the Onions:

    • In the same skillet, add the chopped yellow onions and cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until they become golden and caramelized.
  • Assemble the Rolls:

    • Slice the white sandwich rolls in half and remove some of the interior to create space.
    • Layer a bit of grated cheese on the bottom, then spoon on the cheesy chicken mixture.
  • Top and Bake:

    • Combine the caramelized onions with any remaining grated cheese and fresh parsley.
    • Spoon this topping over the filled rolls.
    • Place the rolls in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) and bake for 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
