Description
Cheesy Taco Pinwheels are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that combines creamy cheese with fresh vegetables and taco seasoning, all wrapped in a tortilla.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (for dipping)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, and taco seasoning mix. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Lay out one flour tortilla on a clean surface. Spread a generous layer of the cheese mixture evenly over the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle a portion of diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sliced black olives, and chopped cilantro (if using) over the cheese mixture.
- Starting from one edge, carefully roll the tortilla tightly into a log shape. Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Once all tortillas are rolled, wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- After chilling, remove the wraps and slice each roll into 1-inch thick pinwheels. Arrange on a serving platter.
- Serve with sour cream for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture.
- Substitute the flour tortillas with whole wheat or spinach tortillas for a healthier option.
