Description

Cheesy Taco Pinwheels are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that combines creamy cheese with fresh vegetables and taco seasoning, all wrapped in a tortilla.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, and taco seasoning mix. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  2. Lay out one flour tortilla on a clean surface. Spread a generous layer of the cheese mixture evenly over the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
  3. Sprinkle a portion of diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sliced black olives, and chopped cilantro (if using) over the cheese mixture.
  4. Starting from one edge, carefully roll the tortilla tightly into a log shape. Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  5. Once all tortillas are rolled, wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. After chilling, remove the wraps and slice each roll into 1-inch thick pinwheels. Arrange on a serving platter.
  7. Serve with sour cream for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture.
  • Substitute the flour tortillas with whole wheat or spinach tortillas for a healthier option.
