Description
Cherry Coconut Magic Bars are a delightful dessert combining the flavors of cherry, coconut, and chocolate in a delicious layered treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a crust.
- Sprinkle the shredded coconut evenly over the crust. Next, spoon the cherry pie filling over the coconut layer, spreading it out gently.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips and nuts (if using) evenly over the cherry layer. Finally, pour the sweetened condensed milk over the entire mixture, ensuring it covers all the toppings.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before cutting into bars.
- These bars can be served warm or at room temperature. For best results, refrigerate for an hour before slicing for cleaner cuts.
Notes
- For a tropical twist, try adding crushed pineapple along with the cherry pie filling.
- You can also substitute the chocolate chips with white chocolate chips for a different flavor profile.
