Description
Cherry Delight Trifle is a delicious and easy dessert that layers cherry pie filling, whipped cream, and angel food cake for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cherry pie filling
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 package (10 ounces) angel food cake, cut into cubes
- 1 cup vanilla pudding (prepared)
- 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form. Set aside.
- In a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer half of the angel food cake cubes at the bottom.
- Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake cubes, followed by half of the vanilla pudding.
- Add half of the whipped cream on top of the pudding layer.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining angel food cake, cherry pie filling, vanilla pudding, and whipped cream.
- Top the trifle with fresh cherries and slivered almonds, if using.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, substitute chocolate pudding for vanilla pudding.
- You can also use mixed berries instead of cherry pie filling for a different flavor profile.
