Cherry Delight Trifle is a delicious and easy dessert that layers cherry pie filling, whipped cream, and angel food cake for a delightful treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (10 ounces) angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup vanilla pudding (prepared)
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form. Set aside.
  2. In a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer half of the angel food cake cubes at the bottom.
  3. Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake cubes, followed by half of the vanilla pudding.
  4. Add half of the whipped cream on top of the pudding layer.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining angel food cake, cherry pie filling, vanilla pudding, and whipped cream.
  6. Top the trifle with fresh cherries and slivered almonds, if using.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a chocolate twist, substitute chocolate pudding for vanilla pudding.
