Description

A delicious tart featuring fresh cherry tomatoes and creamy burrata cheese, perfect for a light meal or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup burrata cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the halved cherry tomatoes, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Toss well to coat the tomatoes evenly.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to fit your baking sheet. Transfer the pastry to the prepared baking sheet and prick the surface with a fork to prevent it from puffing up too much.
  4. Arrange the seasoned cherry tomatoes evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the tomatoes are softened.
  6. Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Tear the burrata cheese into pieces and scatter it over the warm tart.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped basil over the top and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding thinly sliced garlic or red onion to the tomato mixture before baking.
  • You can substitute the burrata with fresh mozzarella or goat cheese for a different taste profile.
