Description
A delicious tart featuring fresh cherry tomatoes and creamy burrata cheese, perfect for a light meal or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 cup burrata cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the halved cherry tomatoes, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Toss well to coat the tomatoes evenly.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to fit your baking sheet. Transfer the pastry to the prepared baking sheet and prick the surface with a fork to prevent it from puffing up too much.
- Arrange the seasoned cherry tomatoes evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the tomatoes are softened.
- Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Tear the burrata cheese into pieces and scatter it over the warm tart.
- Sprinkle the chopped basil over the top and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding thinly sliced garlic or red onion to the tomato mixture before baking.
- You can substitute the burrata with fresh mozzarella or goat cheese for a different taste profile.
