Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup cookie dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and cookie dough until evenly distributed.
  7. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a rope about 12 inches long.
  8. Twist two ropes together and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  9. Brush each twist with the egg wash for a shiny finish.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
