Ingredients
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups milk
- 1 package (16 ounces) chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold in 1 1/2 cups of the whipped topping until well combined. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk for about 2 minutes until it thickens.
- In a 9×13 inch dish, start layering by placing a single layer of chocolate sandwich cookies at the bottom. You may need to break some cookies to fit.
- Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cookie layer.
- Pour half of the chocolate pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer.
- Repeat the layers: add another layer of chocolate cookies, the remaining cream cheese mixture, and then the remaining chocolate pudding mixture.
- Top the final layer with the remaining whipped topping.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results, to allow the layers to set.
- Before serving, sprinkle chocolate chips on top for garnish if desired.
Notes
- For a mint chocolate variation, add 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract to the cream cheese mixture.
- Substitute the chocolate sandwich cookies with vanilla cookies for a lighter flavor profile.
