Description

A rich and creamy chocolate mousse cheesecake that combines the flavors of chocolate and cheesecake in a delightful dessert.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for topping)
  • Fresh berries (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Mix until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared springform pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and let cool.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the melted chocolate to the cream cheese mixture and mix until fully incorporated.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until no streaks remain.
  7. Pour the chocolate mousse filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
  9. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for 1 hour to cool gradually. Remove from the oven and let cool completely at room temperature.
  10. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
  11. Before serving, dust the top with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh berries if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate.
  • Add a layer of fruit preserves or a fruit compote on top of the cheesecake before serving for a fruity twist.
