Description
A rich and indulgent chocolate cake with a creamy peanut butter swirl, topped with a luscious chocolate ganache.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, cocoa powder, melted butter, 2 eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- In another bowl, mix the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and remaining egg until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the chocolate batter and swirl gently with a knife.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top of the cake.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly gooey. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- While the cake is cooling, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and pour over the remaining chocolate chips in a bowl. Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth to create a ganache.
- Drizzle the ganache over the cooled cake before serving.
Notes
- For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding chopped peanuts on top of the ganache.
- You can substitute almond butter for peanut butter for a different nutty taste.
