Description

A festive and delicious Christmas Blueberry Tiramisu Trifle that combines layers of ladyfingers, mascarpone cheese, and fresh blueberries, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 package (7 ounces) ladyfinger cookies
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the blueberries and 1/4 cup of sugar. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring gently until the blueberries start to burst and release their juices. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix the cooled coffee with the remaining 3/4 cup of sugar and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy whipping cream, and ground cinnamon. Whip until soft peaks form.
  4. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of a trifle dish or individual serving glasses.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, followed by half of the blueberry mixture. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and blueberries.
  6. Dust the top layer with cocoa powder. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Before serving, garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

  • For a festive touch, add a splash of orange liqueur to the coffee mixture.
  • Substitute the blueberries with raspberries or strawberries for a different flavor profile.
