Description
A festive dessert delight that combines layers of gingerbread cookies, cream cheese, and whipped topping, perfect for Christmas celebrations.
Ingredients
- 2 cups crushed gingerbread cookies
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 1 cup red and green M&M’s, divided
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the crushed gingerbread cookies and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form the crust.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in 1 cup of the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until well combined. Spread this mixture evenly over the crust in the baking dish.
- Layer the remaining whipped topping over the cream cheese layer.
- Sprinkle half of the M&M’s, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips over the whipped topping layer. Drizzle with half of the caramel sauce.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining cream cheese mixture, whipped topping, M&M’s, mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, and caramel sauce.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, garnish with any remaining M&M’s and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
Notes
- For a different flavor, substitute the gingerbread cookies with crushed chocolate cookies or vanilla wafers.
- Add a layer of crushed peppermint candies for a festive twist and extra crunch.
