Description
A festive dessert delight that combines layers of gingerbread cookies, cream cheese, and vanilla pudding, perfect for Christmas celebrations.
Ingredients
- 1 package (14.1 oz) of gingerbread cookies
- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup of vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and milk until thickened, about 2 minutes.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
- In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer half of the gingerbread cookies at the bottom.
- Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cookies, followed by half of the vanilla pudding.
- Sprinkle half of the ground cinnamon over the pudding layer.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining gingerbread cookies, cream cheese mixture, and vanilla pudding.
- Top with crushed peppermint candies and chocolate chips, if using.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the cookies to soften.
- Before serving, garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, use chocolate pudding mix instead of vanilla.
- Substitute the gingerbread cookies with snickerdoodle or sugar cookies for a different flavor profile.
