Description

A festive and delicious Christmas Trifle Dessert that layers pound cake, mixed berries, whipped cream, and vanilla pudding, perfect for impressing guests during the holiday season.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pound cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup vanilla pudding (prepared)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large glass trifle bowl or individual serving cups, layer half of the pound cake cubes at the bottom.
  2. Add half of the mixed berries on top of the pound cake.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  4. Spread half of the whipped cream over the berries.
  5. Spoon half of the prepared vanilla pudding over the whipped cream layer.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining pound cake, mixed berries, whipped cream, and vanilla pudding.
  7. Top the trifle with slivered almonds, if using, and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a festive twist, consider adding a splash of orange liqueur to the berries for extra flavor.
  • You can also substitute the mixed berries with seasonal fruits like pomegranate seeds or diced apples for a different taste.
