Description
Cinnamon Roll Apple Lasagna is a delightful dessert that combines the flavors of cinnamon rolls and apple pie in a layered, baked treat.
Ingredients
- 2 (8-ounce) cans of refrigerated cinnamon rolls
- 2 cups of peeled and sliced apples (about 2 medium apples)
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 cup of chopped pecans (optional)
- 1 cup of cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of caramel sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and chopped pecans (if using). Mix well and set aside.
- Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and separate them. Roll each cinnamon roll into a flat circle and place a layer of the apple mixture in the center. Fold the edges of the cinnamon roll over the filling to create a pocket. Repeat with all cinnamon rolls.
- Arrange the filled cinnamon rolls in the prepared baking dish, placing them close together.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy. Drizzle this mixture over the arranged cinnamon rolls.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
- If desired, drizzle caramel sauce over the top before serving. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of cloves or allspice to the apple mixture.
- Substitute the apples with pears or a mix of berries for a different fruit flavor.
