Description

Start your day on a sweet note with these Cinnamon Sugar Cream Muffins. Soft, moist, and infused with the warm spice of cinnamon sugar, they’re the perfect treat for breakfast, brunch, or any time you need a delicious pick-me-up.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream

Cinnamon Sugar Filling:

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  • Preheat Your Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  • Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in sour cream until creamy.
  • Blend Mixtures: Gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Filling: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Assemble Muffins: Fill muffin liners halfway with batter. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture generously, then top with more batter until liners are ¾ full.
  • Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and Glaze: Allow muffins to cool slightly. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze, then drizzle over the muffins.

Notes

  • Ensure wet ingredients are at room temperature for a smooth batter.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Adjust glaze consistency by adding more milk for thinner glaze or more powdered sugar for a thicker glaze.
