Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon and brown sugar.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter. Pour the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the batter and cinnamon-sugar mixture together for a marbled effect.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding 1/2 cup of chopped nuts or raisins to the batter.
  • You can also drizzle a simple icing made from powdered sugar and milk over the cooled bread for an extra sweet touch.
